11:00 a.m. Traditional Worship Service
The 11:00 a.m. traditional worship service at Brainerd UMC offers worshippers opportunity to experience God through the various acts of praise which constitute worship, in the traditional sense. Those acts include scripture readings, responsive readings, affirmations of faith, prayers, sermon, and offering. The music sung by the congregation consists of both familiar traditional hymns and new songs and hymns from the United Methodist Hymnal and The Faith We Sing, our supplemental hymn book. The Chancel Choir offers an anthem, usually scripture based, along with great hymn arrangements and well-known and loved classical anthems. There are vocal soloists and ensembles which often offer their talents and gifts of music. Accompaniment is provided by pipe organ and piano and other instruments, as well. The organist is Jeff Scofield, pianist is Terry Sanford, and Ron Starnes is director of music.
